When Things Slip Out..

Shh, nobody tell my mom about this!
The girls and I have been hitting the round of consignment sales this week. We've been having great fun, checking out the bargains, finding new outfits and toy to add to our already-too-large collection. Well one morning we went shopping, found a few things and then got in line to pay. And we waited. And waited. And waited. About 45 minutes into the wait, Ellie began complaining that her feet hurt.
Well, it was more like, "I. Just. Can't. Stand. Any. Moooorrrrreeee!"
Kailey was in her beco carrier on my front, so I slipped it onto my back, reached down and and scooped Ellie up. She snuggled into me and I could feel Kailey snuggling into her arms. They were both content to wait a bit longer. Cause we were almost at the front of the line, and I was not about to get out now.
I was a bit stressed now because I did not anticipate waiting an hour to check out. I had just over an hour to get these girls home, fed, wait for daddy, then be at a meeting for work. We are rounding this big table of shoes, me holding two kids and kicking my laundry basket full of loot in front of me, when I see these two women staring at me.
Just staring away.
I tried really hard to ignore them. But they kept looking at me like I'd grown another head. (actually, I had two additional ones, but that's besides the point)
Then I hear one woman, staring at me, tell her friend,
"I don't know WHY she's carrying that big girl around." GASP! NO, YOU DID NOT!!
And then, I couldn't help it, it just slipped out...
"And I don't see WHY its any of your business" And they stared, shocked at me, and quickly looked away. All the other people stared at me, though.
Ok, I do not talk to strangers this way. EVER. But seriously people, here I am, sweating bullets cause it's hot and I'm stressed out, its way to crowded for my germy self in here. Ellie hasn't had a snack in a long time, so I'm sure her blood sugar has plummeted. Kailey is getting sleepy and ready for a nap. I am hauling around 50+ pounds of kids, kicking a very full laundry basket, and just minding my own business. And you pick NOW to mess with me?
Maybe next time, you'll mind your own business. Or maybe next time I'll tell you what I REALLY think. Or maybe I'll say nothing, take the high road and ignore such petty comments.
Yeah. Sure I will. And pigs fly.

Okay, I want to know RIGHT NOW in which part of the city you live in. Because 1) I want to see you physically hold both of your daughters at once and 2) I want to follow you around at a discreet distance and chuckle the next time a situation like this occurs. I'm glad that I'm not the only one that loses my filter, some people just need a little help remembering thier own manners!

I know exactly how you feel i have had Kaden climb on my back before when he was whining while trying to carry Skyler and the diaper bag in the front. People like to start whispering when they see soemthing like this i guess. We do what we have to do to accomplish our goal. Apparently they have perfect children that never whine. lol
